Job Overview:

 

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for designing and implementing equipment as well as optimization of business process in OWI owned and third-party facilities.   This position requires leading capital expenditure projects, development of new processes and procedures, production support and troubleshooting, and collaboration across multiple departments.   This position will require travel up to 80% of the time.


DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, design, quote and implement equipment for manufacturing of OWI products to:
    • Ensure safe operations
    • Meet or exceed quality standards
    • Achieve optimal cost per unit
  • Troubleshoot problems within manufacturing procedures and processes; identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to preventative maintenance procedures that achieve world class uptime performance 
  • Develops and maintains equipment standards list for all production processes to drive consistency between operations.  Ensures equipment purchase and upgrade decisions are consistent with standards.  
  • Assist in establishing safety, quality, and production procedures and process in OWI facilities
  • Create and maintain project schedules, provide input for budgets, and monitor performance to budgets
  • Drive prioritization of activities to ensure optimal utilization of resources
  • Identifies and prioritizes continuous improvement opportunities.   Develops solutions and capital justification for high value improvements.  
  • Provide clear communication to the organization on project status, critical path.
  • Proven ability to transfer knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements
  • Effective Communication and ability to articulate and present different points-of-views on various technologies

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:                

  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or relevant experience
  • Should be experienced in Negotiation, Vendor Management, Risk Management, Project Financials
  • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required
  • Command of Microsoft office suite of tools, experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem solver. Strong communicator. Highly collaborative
  • Must be detail oriented, self-directed and have strong independent problem-solving skills
