Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform technical duties required to control material processes and to develop and modify processes for both new and existing products to optimize safety, machine efficiency, quality and cost savings.
DUTIES:
- Use Key Metrics to outline and drive down key scrap sources.
- Review results of laminated production products. Maintain and optimize process setups.
- Generate capability studies and evaluate data driven VA/VE activities.
- Lead VA/VE activities through ECR/ECO processes.
- Work with Launch group to review products held on Gateway and determine logical direction before releasing. Address process quality issues, determine causes and implement corrective actions. Create and modify operating procedures as necessary.
- Monitor engineering aspects of manufacturing process with the goal to continuously improve process capability and productivity. Communicate with internal/external resources.
- Work with Quality Department and Operations to solve internal and external customer rejections and raw material issues.
- Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures are followed. Update/create Work Instructions as necessary for efficiency improvements.
- Perform other related duties as required or as needed.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- B.Sc. in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Textile, or other related field)
- 0-4 years experience; manufacturing field a plus
- Able to work independently being self-motivated and in groups
- Good communicator
Knowledge of statistics and Statistical Process Control. Experience with statistical analysis programs (Minitab, JMP) a plus.
