Job Overview:

Enflo (A Pexco Company) is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our dynamic team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will report to the General Manager and assume a key role in driving improvements and supporting sales growth of the company. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will have primary responsibility for ensuring business processes are continuously improving in control, accuracy, efficiency and capacity. This position will assist in documenting processes, analyzing processes for improvements, recommending and implementing solutions to improve the business from the quotation process through shipping by leading and participating in projects, kaizen and day to day improvements. This position includes responsibility to lead and participate in safety, environmental, production and business process improvement. Key metrics include safety, CIP projects, manufacturing cost, and capacity growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Support

  • Works with sales team to improve the quotation process by providing process documentation tools that align operational capacity, financial performance and customer expectations.
  • Develops and maintains tools to allow streamlining of quotation process.
  • Provides guidance to sales on information needed to translate customer expectations to manufacturing process via spreadsheets, Epicor, job traveler notes, etc.
  • Maintains proficiency of understanding customer expectations and specifications to support sales growth by aligning and articulating process capability with customer expectations
  • Participates in customer meetings to bring technical operational knowledge to the sales process.
  • Active member of teams in resolving CARs and customer complaints.

Manufacturing Support

  • Assists the General Manager in the day to day operation of the facilities
  • Participates actively in developing a culture of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing
  • Defines and develops plans to improve process controls and reliability to provide predictable quality results and drive operational excellence.
  • Supports production personnel in resolving process obstacles
  • Maintains a clean working environment.
  • Recommends ideas to improve safety, maximize production, improve efficiency, quality of products
  • Provides leadership in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to Health & Safety policies
  • Facilitates Continuous Improvement activities and assists ISO 9001 implementation
  • Develops and documents a preventative maintenance schedule for facility equipment to improve process reliability.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving problems
  • Manages outside vendors for site repairs and upgrades as appropriate.

New Product/Process Development

  • Responsible for managing major internal projects for new applications such as new processes, new products and resins from concept to implementation by working with the management team.
  • Develop, Oversee and Documentation of projects to support growth initiatives.

General

  • Implements and enforces organization policies and goals
  • Responsible for managing major internal projects (capex, cost reduction initiatives)
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, attending trade shows
  • Understands the business, visits company manufacturing locations up to 4 times per year (minimum)
  • Active involvement in recommending changes and supporting implementation of Company policies and procedures
  • Be a decision maker and takes responsibility for the decisions made

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering
  • 3 -5 years manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with LEAN manufacturing and 6S
  • Excellent communication skills. Bilingual (English, French) a plus
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment, Excel) and strong working knowledge of ERP systems is preferred, especially EPICOR
  • Good organizational skills, strong knowledge of inventory control
  • Must be willing to work overtime and occasionally weekends
  • License to practice Engineering in New Brunswick preferred
