Job Description:

Process Development Engineer reports directly to the Director of Operations or Engineering or equivalent, focusing on development and process improvements to support new designs in development as well as production and engineering activities.

  • Support New assembly development focused on ensuring high yield low HPU products.
  • Develop scalable assembly processes that transfer from Engineering to Production
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes then develop and implement process improvements in current production and future designs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, 5-S, DOE, Kaizen, VSM, Gage R&R, Poka-Yoke
  • Identify and implement cost-effective process improvements, including automation, tooling upgrades, and workflow optimizations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and achieve production targets.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot process failures, quality problems, and develop, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement lean tools and techniques and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new equipment, tools, and technologies to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and gauge repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) studies to ensure process capability.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects related to process improvement, new product introductions, Desing and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data-driven decision making, and process control techniques.
  • Mentor manufacturing engineers improving skills and preparing for them to take on senior engineering roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ relevant experience in electronics manufacturing and process development activities
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline preferably in mechanical, electrical, or material science, MS preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to adapt quickly in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing development environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
