TITLE: Process Engineer
LOCATION: Bedford Park, IL (Argo Plant)
REPORTS TO: Process Engineering Manager
The Process Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes to improve process efficiency, quality, throughput, cost, and sustainability. Within this role you will grow your process expertise in an operating unit to identify and implement process improvements and capital projects from concept to startup.
As part of our Operations team, your role will be:
- Providing technical support to maintenance and operations groups including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and maintenance of historical data to identify, monitor and control key operating parameters.
- Spearheads projects up to $500K and directing project contractors and consultants, as necessary.
- Implementing capital permits, projects, and engineering studies as assigned to accomplish plant goals. Managing projects in compliance with Ingredion’s ethics, safety, and engineering standards.
- Providing technical knowledge to the plant safety professional on facility safety initiatives when designing and/or redesigning work processes to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Identifying, developing, and initiating capital projects with an implementation date of 1-2 years in duration.
- Conducting process training and ensuring documentation is up to date when projects are complete.
- Keeping current in discipline, assessing innovative technologies and ideas, developing, evaluating, and seeking approval for new concepts to improve the efficiency and the capability of the process
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related discipline or equivalent technical experience. Chemical, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering degrees preferred.
- Process improvement experience in manufacturing operations environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot process & equipment, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement action plans and follow-up to ensure effective results.
- Ability to successfully implement capital projects/permits and perform engineering functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and expertise of the corn wet milling process, and the systems and fundamentals involved in its operation preferred.
