Summary
Die Cast Process Tech will master troubleshooting and repairs on advanced Die Cast equipment. Checks parts for conformance to specifications after any adjustments are made to ensure product quality.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(but not limited to…)
- Able to change out more complex die casting equipment including ring on shot tip, tip on shot rod and shot rod.
- Troubleshoot die cast process failures, trace back to root cause.
- Reset any machine faults.
- Reset any robot fault.
- Setup change-over on trim die for new part runs.
- Complete all PMs and log properly into the ERP system.
- Understanding of Control Plan and FMEA documentation.
- GD&T offset changes, runouts, coordinates round & straights.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability & statistical inference, & fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
- Able to troubleshoot and correct porosity issues.
- Read CMM report data and make necessary adjustments to die cast equipment.
- Read the gauges for surface finish, angles, radius, thickness, and contours of parts.
- The ability to be able to do a full setup using APQP guidelines of parts.
- Complete bottle changing procedure.
- Set up and make ladle adjustments.
- Set up reciprocator and check spring.
- Remove stuck castings.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Certified in Lock Out Tag Out; Knowledge of Metrology & Gauges; Hi Lo certification; hoist certification.
