Job Description

TekPro Engineering is looking to hire a Process Automation Engineer with direct experience working within a Chemical Manufacturing/ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facility. This position supports process control strategies and oversees implementation of changes and upgrades to DCS systems for high-performance chemical production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process control logic and operator interface system changes.

• Maintain tag databases and data historians; support simulation and training operations.

• Troubleshoot and deploy process automation sensors and control elements.

• Assist maintenance teams in diagnosing hardware issues.

• Write and modify code for multiple OEM control systems (Bailey Infi90, ABB 800xA, various PLC platforms).

• Lead automation aspects of capital projects and process improvements.

• Provide 24/7/365 rotating “level 1” configuration support.

• Plan long-term automation strategies, including system expansions and upgrades.

• Apply cybersecurity best practices in automation environments.

• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, and Regulatory teams.

• Comply with OSHA PSM and EH&S protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical).

Preferred:

• 5+ years of hands-on process automation experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

• Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.

• Experience with Bailey Infi90, ABB 800xA, or comparable DCS/PLC systems.
