OnsiteWe’re looking for an experienced engineering professional who is interested in working together with others to achieve excellence in design and efficient lifecycle execution. This position is responsible for working closely with design engineering teams in Mission Systems within the Strategic Solutions portfolio to provide quality-focused technical and process oversight of product developments throughout their lifecycle. As a Mission Systems Development Quality & Integrity (DQI) team member, you will be a program quality focal lead, ensuring designs meet quality expectations, as well as customer, regulatory, and other requirements, and influence the adoption of engineering best practices to identify and eliminate defects before delivery.
This position requires the applicant to have demonstrated experience in complex engineering development process and methods, including planning, requirements capture/decomposition, implementation, verification, and validation. Engineering disciplines include Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Software Engineering.
What YOU Will Do:
Assists engineering project planning activities to ensure plans account for program requirements and incorporate best practices and lessons learned.
Assesses proactively the health of engineering projects using objective measurements and assessments.
Reviews design products and processes for compliance to contract requirements, department of defense directives, and company specifications.
Advises project teams and leadership of engineering design quality trends and systemic issues, working with others to investigate, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions to deliver high quality designs.
Mentors less-experienced engineers in the areas of design quality, process, and regulatory requirements.
Develops a design quality and assurance engagement strategy & plan and leading the assigned DQI team to ensure effective and efficient support to the engineering project(s).
Utilizes AS9100, AS9115, and/or AS9145 quality standards.
Utilizes zero-defect tolerance design & development projects, including experience from planning through verification.
Applies design engineering tools and Integrated Development Environment(s), including dynamic and static analyzers.

Qualifications You Must Have:
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
Experience conducting technical research and interpreting standards for application (e. g. ASE, ISO, IEEE, DoD, DFARs, etc.)
Experience with development lifecycle management methods such as Agile, or DevOps
Qualifications We Prefer:
Design engineering experience is required.
B.S. degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, or similar technical field coupled with relevant professional experience
Understanding AS9100, AS9115, and/or AS9145 quality standards.
Understanding of Quality tools and Lean processes.
