None/Not RequiredWe are seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive quality excellence across complex programs and processes. This role requires a seasoned Quality Assurance professional who can operate with a high degree of independence, influence cross-functional teams, and serve as a key contributor to strategic quality initiatives. The Principal QE will lead continuous improvement efforts, quality planning, and issue resolution throughout the product life cycle—from development through production.
This is an onsite role in Phoenix, AZ and may be eligible for relocation. This role will support manufacturing in both Phoenix, AZ and Bengaluru, India site so occasional support during off hours may be expected
What You Will Do
Leads the development and deployment of Quality Assurance strategies, plans, and systems across programs to meet business and customer expectations.
Provides expert-level guidance in quality planning, risk identification, and mitigation during design, development, and production phases.
Partners with program, engineering, and operations leadership to integrate quality into the core of decision-making and ensure alignment with overall program objectives.
Leads quality root cause investigations, escape management activities, and corrective action planning with minimal oversight.
Drives quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), increasing yield, and enhancing process capability.
Develops and implements new quality methodologies, inspection technologies, and measurement systems to ensure compliance and enhance product conformance.
Champions continuous improvement by applying data-driven analysis, Lean principles, and Six Sigma tools across the value stream.
Interfaces directly with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to resolve complex quality issues and represent the voice of the customer in cross-functional settings.
Supports internal and external audits, ensuring compliance to quality system standards and contractual obligations.
Mentors and coaches junior quality engineers and contributes to talent development within the Quality function.
Qualification You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Prior quality experience in aerospace or manufacturing/assembly environment
AS9100 experience preferred.
RCCA and APQP experience preferred.
Previous experience with continuous improvement/lean manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with quality audits
