Job Overview:

 

Mission of the position:  To inspire our Customer engineers to escape the ordinary through design, fabrication, commissioning, and startup of world class process filtration & purification systems. Supporting Mott’s Process Systems business, this role will be the Technical Expert on component and system design, process integration, and startup & commissioning of filtration and separation equipment for process industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Power and more.  The right candidate for this role is a Subject Matter Expert on chemical conversion processes and is familiar with system design, integration of major equipment, fabrication, commissioning & startup.

This is a remote-based position with the company headquarters being located in Farmington, CT.  Compensation package includes base salary, bonus, and 401k match. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to drive positive change and work in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment.   

Key Responsibilities:

Major Challenges:

  1. Serves as Subject Matter Expert on Process Filtration Systems and associated equipment.
  2. Final Reviewer of Customer Specifications, Pre-Sale Designs & Estimates, Post-Sale Engineering Deliverables.
  3. Prepare or review PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, Functional Specifications, Control Narratives, Operating Procedures & Manuals.
  4. Participate in pre-sale calls with customer to translate need to technical requirements. Differentiate Mott’s technical solutions.
  5. Oversee or perform on site commissioning & startup.
  1. Determining customer true technical needs & translating into project requirements.
  2. Need to prioritize against multiple customers in multiple markets to support business need.
  3. Understanding needs of key external and internal stakeholders and achieving cross-functional alignment on project plans and timelines.
  4. Prioritizing pre-sale activities based on both probability and impact.
  5. Navigating complex requirements management needs of large EPC or multi-national corporations.

Expected Performance Outcomes:

Required Experience:

  1. Develop and enhance Process Systems product lines, product families. Attend 1-3 conferences and industry shows per year representing Mott as SME.
  2. 98%+ On-Time Delivery of Pre-Sale Estimates. As-sold execution within 5% of estimates.
  3. 98%+ On-Time Delivery to Schedule of all Post-Sale Engineering Deliverables.
  4. 98%+ On-Time Delivery of Commissioning & Startup activities to Customer schedule.
  1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or similar industry BS, MS in Engineering or Science.  
  2. Experienced sizing and installing major process equipment such as reactors, HXs, pumps, filters, dryers. Experienced with catalytic reactions and corresponding process design. Knowledge of major refining processes such as catalyst cracking or hydrotreating.
  3. Experienced with process design software such as Aspen HYSYS and expert at process design deliverables and requirements: PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, Functional Specifications, HAZOP/PHAs.
  4. Experienced with required Codes & Standards such as API-520, ASME-B31.3, ASME Section VIII.
