Principal Mechanical Engineer - Heat Exchangers

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

Incumbent will be responsible for the specification and application of exchangers (shell & tubes, hairpins, air coolers and plate technologies) associated with LNG and Hydrogen facilities.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master or Doctorate in Engineering required
  • 7-10+ years’ experience working on LNG / Hydrogen Projects required
  • Experience with Exchanger Equipment required
  • Preparation of specifications, design calculations, datasheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, purchase orders and supplier document review for Exchangers.
  • Design Calculations for design or check rating Heat Exchangers (using HTRI).
  • Design Calculations (using PVElite) for heat exchangers.
  • Interest in TEMA and API standards for Shell & Tubes, Hairpins, Air Coolers and Plates
  • Ability to receive technical guidance from senior engineers
  • Group leaders - Organize the team, understand scope, schedule, budget and contract summary all the time.
  • Propose ideas, collaborate with the team, improve and document/update the work process.
  • Software Experience with Office 365 (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, TEAMs, SharePoint), Documentum, Smartsketch or Autocad, and Adobe
  • Software Experience with Visual Basic or Visual Fortran a plus
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally a plus
  • Experience from a heat exchanger supplier shop a plus
  • Professional Engineer a plus
