We are looking for a Principal Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most transformative technologies. This role plays a critical part in supporting the deployment of Bloom Energy’s advanced power solutions ifor AI-driven data centers and other mission-critical infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Electrical Utilities and Construction Engineering, this position is based in San Jose, CA, and is a fully on-site, in-office role, five days a week.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting site design implementation with an emphasis on construction engineering support
  • Responsible for providing technical direction to get projects successfully to commencement of operation.
  • Responsible for reviewing designs and custom equipment solutions.
  • Interface directly outside 3rd parties including but not limited to utilities, permitting authorities, 3rd party design firms, and customers to determine technical requirements for fuel cell installation at the customer site.
  • Ensure resulting construction drawings/documents meet all building construction and electrical code requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring construction of site design conforms to specifications required for the implementation of Bloom Energy fuel cell systems.
  • Review RFIs and submittals and provide construction support services.
  • Provide design constructability reviews and value engineering assessments.
  • Provide Bloom product installation and electrical control drawings support.
  • Get results through detail-focused organization and by maintaining a sense of urgency.

Skills and Experience:

  • 7-10 years of related experience.
  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards including but not limited to NEC, NVPA, NETA ATS.
  • Knowledge of IEEE 1547 and utility interconnection standards a plus.
  • Capable of interpreting and developing construction drawings, control schematics, details and specifications.
  • Experience with relays and electrical controls a plus
  • Experiences with SCADA, communication protocols and cabling a plus.
  • Customer interaction skillsets a plus.
  • Construction and/or facility maintenance experience a plus.
  • Proactive and persistent with well-developed analytical skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that include a minimum of the following:

​1. Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, concise manner

2. Ability to interact with facilities, utility, field, AHJ, and other third party personnel.

3. Experience in using Microsoft Office products.

Salary Ranges:

$146,800.00 - $211,200.00
