Summary (What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities: The Preventive Maintenance Technician   performs diversified tasks involving the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment—both mechanical and electrical. The role supports safety, predictive, and preventative   maintenance processes to ensure equipment reliability and contribute to organizational goals. • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office
• Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines
• Ability to use a calculator 
• Ability to learn and become proficient with MES, Paylocity, and other internal database and tracking software
• Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities 
• Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to read   and interpret measurements from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device in standard and metric systems
• Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team with other Slitter operators to ensure line goals are met; flexibility to help with packaging duties and/or other lines as needed

Key Responsibilities (What/How):

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant’s facilities equipment
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
• Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Other duties, activities or responsibilities as assigned 

Physical Demands:This position requires frequently lifting   and/or moving up to 25 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50   pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for   long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme   temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include   close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth   perception and ability to adjust focus.
