Preventative Maintenance Technician
The preventive maintenance technician ensures that the machines and equipment used are always in perfect working conditions. The general role of this technician is to service and repair facilities to prevent any significant breakdown that might disrupt the smooth operation of the company's activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Carry out a routine check on the company's facilities
Carry out regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate significant damage
Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machine and equipment
Ensure that safety standards are maintained in the course of performing duties
Ensure that the facility areas and work environment are free of hazardous objects and substances
Assist in supervising the activities of external technicians or sub-contractors
May be required to assist external technicians/sub-contractors
Assist in the preparation of the budget for facility installation or maintenance
Keep proper record of work activities, including all procurement and maintenance costs
Submit reports on work activities and progress of work to the supervisor
May be required to assist in the movement of materials and labor for projects.
Help with development budgets for the upkeep of equipment and property structures
Conduct daily inspections and perform routine maintenance of facilities to prevent mechanical failures.
Conduct repairs on the company or building's equipment such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing systems, or electrical systems
Perform general aesthetic upkeep, which can include painting, basic carpentry, or landscaping
Perform daily safety inspections and maintain records
Develop and maintain a maintenance log detailing all planned or performed maintenance
Handle pest control issues by spraying insecticide or calling and coordinating with the appropriate professionals
Maintain and carry out a calendar of monthly and annual equipment checkups or repairs
Assist as needed with 6S Lean strategies
Pick up and delivery of materials as needed.
Other duties as assigned
Flexible work schedule to perform maintenance during non working hours as needed
Role Qualifications
Minimum of 2 + years in Preventative Maintenance or related field
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health
Ability to solve basic problems that may arise on the job
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems in day to day tasks for the job
Ability to respond to emergencies promptly and be able to prioritize important work
Ability to communicate and work with team members
Ability to organize calendars and appointments, especially concerning regular required maintenance
Ability to multitask and juggle a variety of appointments and requests at one time
Ability to work in various areas of the building and perform many different functions to keep the building in good standing
Valid Drivers license required
Ability to work without resprenting a danger to self or others.
Strong work ethic and good attitude
