Job Overview:

PAY RATE: $22.00–$27.00 per hour

SCHEDULE:

Monday–Friday

6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Eight-hour day shift only

OVERTIME/SPECIAL SCHEDULING:

Must be available to work scheduled plant shutdowns, holidays, and weekends, including work on normally unscheduled days.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Preventive Maintenance Technician will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, lubrication, and basic mechanical repairs on plant machinery. This position is primarily PM-focused. Advanced troubleshooting and repairs will be coordinated with Maintenance Technicians, Specialists, or Maintenance Coaches as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety and quality standards.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify worn, damaged, loose, or abnormal components.
  • Perform basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Lubricate bearings, chains, gearboxes, and other machine components according to established PM standards.
  • Inspect and service belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, guards, fasteners, filters, and related components.
  • Check fluid levels and conditions in gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and lubrication systems.
  • Safely use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Recognize excessive wear, vibration, noise, heat, leaks, and other abnormal equipment conditions.
  • Report equipment concerns requiring additional follow-up.
  • Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas.
  • Accurately complete PM work orders, documenting work performed, findings, measurements, comments, and parts used.
  • Communicate equipment concerns to maintenance leadership.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with basic maintenance activities and other assigned duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous mechanical experience.
  • Previous preventive maintenance experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of industrial machinery and mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, lubrication points, and gearboxes.
  • Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to recognize basic equipment abnormalities and clearly communicate findings.
  • Ability to read and follow PM instructions, equipment checklists, and basic maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Maintenance and Production personnel.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
