Job Overview:

The Press Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining tile press equipment during assigned night shifts to ensure consistent production quality, efficiency, and equipment performance. This role requires performing press setup activities, die and frame changes, quality inspections, process adjustments, and basic equipment maintenance while supporting safe and continuous manufacturing operations. The Press Technician must be capable of identifying and correcting production, quality, and equipment issues, communicating effectively with supervisors and team members, and adhering to all safety and operational standards.

This position is for our Night Shift schedule, working 3.5 days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor tile presses according to established procedures and production schedules.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Perform machine setups, die changes, frame changes, and product changeovers as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of green tile to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Adjust press settings and process parameters to correct quality or production concerns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and basic repairs within the scope of the role.
  • Lift, handle, and move green tile and production materials as required throughout the shift.
  • Assist with die and frame transfers and equipment setup activities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues to maintenance or supervision.
  • Record production, downtime, maintenance, and quality control data accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Communicate production, quality, and equipment concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support production efficiency, quality, equipment reliability, and workplace safety.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining automated manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve basic equipment issues.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and handle production materials as required.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills for production and maintenance recordkeeping.
  • Willingness and ability to work a night shift schedule of 3.5 days per week, including overtime as needed.
