Duties/Responsibilities
- Setup, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color sheetfed press equipment and responsible for press performance and quality.
- Run job after approval and make sure job is up to standard and maintain quality specifications during press operation and supervise helper(s) if assigned
- Remove plates and perform cleanup of press, cylinders and related equipment post production
- Records sheet counts and material usage details as well as maintaining plates provided or coordinating plate replacements and maintaining inks for production
- Self-motivated and aware of quality control and maintaining critical color values and stock specifications
- Follows management direction/instructions, able to provide quality feedback, operating suggestions and doesn’t require constant oversight
- Able to perform/maintain registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical.
- Make necessary adjustments to determine press set up according to work order
- Maintaining machinery, makes minor repairs, and replaces worn or broken parts.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirement:
- HS Diploma or GED, trade/vocational school preferred
- Forklift certification preferred including forklift, pallet jack
Experience:
- 5 years of sheetfed press related experience preferred
- 5-7 years of 2nd Pressman experience
- In depth knowledge of press mechanics and capabilities
Preferred Education and Experience
- Technical School training and experience in print industry preferred
- Previous knowledge or experience of print industry preferred
- High End quality controlled commercial printing experience
- Experience with Heidelberg color control system a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in operation of basic computer skills

- Ability to troubleshoot and mechanically inclined.
- Knowledge/familiarity with shop floor data collection methods including labor/material entries

Physical Requirements
While performing duties in production, the employee/candidate/incumbent is regularly required to perform activities which:
Use, reach and lift with fingers, hands and arms, to handle, feel or operate equipment or material.
The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time up to 90% of the work day; to walk to obtain or move material up to 10% of the work day. Occasional stooping, walking/balancing (moving about to accomplish tasks), lifting (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position), grasping (applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm) and repetitive motion (substantial moving of arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers) is required.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects/materials from 25 to 50 pounds.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Vision abilities are required by this job in order to view/review and correct the quality of production to the print work or to the material. Can accurately distinguish color variations using close, distance, peripheral and color vision, depth perception.
The employee is required to be able to communicate.
