Night shift Press Operator.Work schedule is Mon/Tues/Wed, Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs - rotating shift - 12 hour days. Hours are 6:00 pm - 6:00 am. First week - work 36 hours, second week - work 48 hours. Additional days and hours may be necessary to meet the needs of our customers. $1.00 Shift differential applies.

General Description of Job

Set-up, operate and clean-up flexographic printing and converting presses, producing a product that meets our customers needs while maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • follow ISO SOP’s as trained

  • follow daily press schedule

  • ensure that all required paperwork is complete and accurate

  • colors and registration per specifications within tolerance

  • ensure that all components for producing product are at press to ensure job is completely ready to produce from set-up through clean-up

  • conscious of waste through operation (time and material)

  • good working knowledge of inks and pH./viscosity levels

  • output meets customer specification

  • product is neatly stacked off press

  • good and bad product is clearly marked

  • well planned out set-ups and changeovers

  • for clean-up ensures that all ink is removed from shafts of doctor roll and anilox

  • anilox rolls cleaned to prevent plugging of cells

  • all ink cleaned from press and surrounding area when possible

  • base rolls kept clean for each job – no tape or debris remaining; gears cleaned as needed

Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • performs preventative maintenance as needed

  • notifies supervisor of any inconsistencies with finished product, information, or trouble shooting

  • courteous with support help;

  • participates in the quality and process improvement process

  • willing to help in other areas of the shop as the need arises

  • detailed change over with next shift
