Job Overview:

Press Operator – HP / Konica Minolta & High-Speed Manufacturing Presses

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our Manufacturing team in East Providence. This role is responsible for operating HP and Konica Minolta presses as well as high-speed manufacturing and stamping equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate HP and Konica Minolta presses, high-speed stamping presses, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor print quality, press performance, production efficiency, and operational output.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on presses and manufacturing equipment.
  • Start machines, monitor operations, and record operational and production data.
  • Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, blueprints, and specifications to determine materials, tolerances, dimensions, and setup requirements.
  • Manage substrates and organize production workflow according to schedules.
  • Inspect completed products and materials for quality defects, surface imperfections, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Measure completed workpieces using gauges, calipers, rulers, micrometers, templates, and other measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform fabrication functions including cutting, shearing, slitting, punching, crimping, notching, bending, and straightening materials when required.
  • Utilize company manufacturing software systems to process and track production work.
  • Produce work in accordance with LEAN manufacturing principles and maintain work areas to 5S standards.
  • Troubleshoot production and stamping operations while identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Follow safety procedures and properly use equipment and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, and team members to support production goals and facility operations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating HP presses, Konica Minolta presses, sheet-fed offset presses, stamping presses, or other manufacturing press equipment preferred.
  • Progressive die experience and metal stamping experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, press operation, or metal stamping experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and safety rules.
  • Strong math and measurement skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and precision measuring tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift except during scheduled breaks.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, and movement throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on production demands.
