Press Operator Level #2

This position is responsible for operation of the printing press, inspecting, installing, removing parts and supplies, such as rollers, printing plates and cylinders, according to specifications on press.  Press Operators load, position and adjust materials to be printed. 

Will work successfully with different personality types as a team member.

Responsibilities:

· Be able to prepare press for printing without any direction from lead press operator – set up press (web leads, page imposition, unit timing)

· Be able to perform general maintenance (change blankets, set rollers, change oil)

· Must know and understand printing principles (understand how offset print works)

· Be able to set up folder and stackers

· Receive additional training from Level 3 responsibilities for future advancement possibilities

Physical Activities Involved:

Continuous standing/walking during an 8 hour shift, frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb, repetitive grasping and fine manipulation with both hands, pushing carts or pallets up to one ton, required to routinely turn and roll 800 to 1,000 lb. rolls of paper using legs and upper body, frequently carrying up to 45 lbs. throughout an 8 hour shift, rarely requires sitting at a desk or workstation, etc.
