Press Operator

Department: Production

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Status: Full-time

Job Reports To: Pressroom Manager

This position is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation of the web press, folder / trimmer, and other machinery critical to the production of printed materials. It is the entry level position in our press room.

Job Functions

The successful candidate must be dependable, self-starting, attentive to details and receptive to training. This position actively assists with the following duties:

· Feeding papers into pockets on the stitcher-trimmer. Bundling, strapping, and palletizing

finished product, and preparing pallets for shipping.

· Operation of the cutter

· Maintain quality control by observing flaws and correcting them or bringing them to the attention of other press operators.

· Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work area and follow all company, local, state, and federal regulations.

· This position may be trained to operate forklifts

Minimum Requirements:

· Track record of dependability with demonstrated ability to consistently report on time for

assignments.

· Ability to read and interpret written instructions and job jackets.

Technology Skills:

· Ability to be trained in the safe and efficient operation of machinery mentioned above.

Physical Demands:

· Frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending at the waist, and carrying.

· Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
