Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Press Helper in Sibley IA. This position will be responsible for assisting the Press Operator with set-up and production of print materials.
Functional Responsibilities |
- Assist the Operator with set-up; remove and install print cylinders, anilox rollers, doctor systems, etc.
- Maintain ink reservoirs with sufficient supplies of the proper ink; do viscosity checks of ink to maintain color.
- Prepare paper rolls for production and place them into the unwind section of the machine when needed.
- Remove print rolls from the rewind section of the press.
- Clean the machine, surrounding work area and associated equipment as needed.
- Complete all paperwork in a neat and accurate manner.
- Assist the operator with set-ups, as well as operations, as needed
- Keep the work area clean; sweep, pick up, etc.
- Learn and understand all basic operations of the machine
- Experience in using CMMS software preferably EAM
- Any other tasks assigned by the Production Manager or his/her designate

Qualifications - Experience in manufacturing preferably in the paper bag converting industry.
- ERP/MRP experience.
- Familiarity with TPM/WCM is highly desirable.

Skills - Good basic math, reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Read and write basic English.
- Teamwork skills: work closely within the department and with other departments.
- Cooperation and flexibility: be willing to work in other areas of the plant when the need arises.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work safely;follow all safety and health rules to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
