Press Brake Operator – Precision Sheet Metal

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay rate: $24 Plus (DOE)

We are currently seeking an experienced** **Press Brake Operator to join our precision sheet metal manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating press brake equipment and a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, blueprint reading, measurements, tooling, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to form precision sheet metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Select and install appropriate punches, dies, and tooling.
  • Set machine parameters including bend angles, back gauge positions, and tonnage.
  • Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Work with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
  • Perform basic calculations involving bend allowances, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Identify and report quality issues or equipment problems.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Follow production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous** **Press Brake Operator experience in precision sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience setting up press brake tooling and machine parameters.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal bending and forming processes.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Previous experience with CNC press brakes is a plus.
