Job Overview:


Job Title: Brake Press Operator    

Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

Schedule: Monday through Thursday (4AM-2PM). Overtime as needed.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

Perform all general production functions involved in the manufacturing and assembly processes of Modineer Company. Brake Press responsibilities include, but is not limited to, the following: Operation of brake presses, grinders, sanders, punch presses, saws and forklifts as well as other related duties as assigned.  Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:

 

  1. Read and understand work instructions
  2. Load and unload parts
  3. Change different types of punches & dies
  4. Wear appropriate PPE.
  5. Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis
  6. Perform product quality checks in accordance with work instructions.
  7. Package parts per specifications
  8. Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts
  9. Read and understand measurement devices
  10. Make boxes with wooden skids
  11. Must be able to set the readings on the Hurco Autobend back gauge computer

 

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

 

  1. Must be able to use small hand tools, such as grinders, drills and gages
  2. Must be able to read blueprints, calipers & micrometers
  3. Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.
  4. Forklift experience is a plus

Physical environment/working conditions: 

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
