Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Press Brake Operator
to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC press brake equipment, producing quality parts to blueprint specifications, and assisting with the assembly of vent units.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates should have previous press brake experience and be comfortable using precision measuring tools and reading blueprints.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality.
- Maintain required production output while minimizing scrap and material waste.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job instructions.
- Accurately use measuring tools, including calipers, angle gauges, and tape measures.
- Inspect parts during production to ensure dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
- Identify and report defective or nonconforming parts to the supervisor or production lead.
- Assist with tooling changes and machine setup procedures.
- Learn to select appropriate tooling and adjust machine parameters based on job requirements.
- Progress toward performing basic machine setups independently as training and experience develop.
- Support efficient job changeovers and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and assemble vent units, including frames, doors, and internal components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and production guidelines.
- Work cooperatively with team members and provide support across departments as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 1–2 years of previous CNC press brake experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and job instructions.
- Ability to accurately perform measurements using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices.
- Basic understanding of fractions and decimals.
- Ability to learn machine setups, tooling selection, and CNC press brake adjustments.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Willingness to assist across departments and support overall team success.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes and equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for 10–12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, and material-handling activities.
- Ability to safely operate machinery and work in a manufacturing environment.
Required Pre-Employment Skills Assessment
Candidates must successfully complete an assessment at the facility.
The assessment evaluates practical math, measurement, and blueprint-reading skills and is structured as follows: Converting Fractions & Decimals, Standard & Metric Tape Measure Reading, Blue Print Reading, & Measuring with Calipers.
