PWP Lead (Prep, Wire, & Paint)
Location: Manufacturing Floor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Are you a skilled manufacturing professional with hands-on trailer experience and a natural ability to guide others? Interstate Group, LLC is looking for a Prep, Wire, Paint (PWP) Lead to help run our production lines, keep our crews safe, and ensure top-quality trailers hit the road.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to take the next step in production leadership, we want to hear from you.
As the PWP Lead, you’ll serve as the right-hand support to the Production Supervisor, keeping daily operations moving smoothly while staying active on the floor.
Keep Production Moving: Monitor line flow, assist with trailer placement, verify parts/drawings, and jump in on hands-on production tasks whenever needed.
Guide & Support the Team: Assist with daily assignments, onboard and cross-train team members, and step in to lead the department when the supervisor is away.
Champion Safety: Enforce PPE usage, help correct floor hazards, and ensure everyone follows proper safety protocols for tools and materials.
Maintain Quality: Perform continuous quality checks, minimize material waste, and flag any shortages or equipment issues early.
Cross-Department Communication: Coordinate with other department leads to maintain seamless material flow and solve problems quickly.
Industry Know-How: Solid background in trailer manufacturing processes, including reading drawings, using measuring tools, and operating hand/power tools.
Leadership Mindset: Dependable, punctual, and capable of leading small teams with a team-first, problem-solving attitude.
Sharp Eye for Detail: Ability to spot safety risks, quality defects, or order mismatches before they cause delays.
Strong Communication: Able to relay production status, material needs, and personnel updates clearly to management.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended shifts, bend, squat, stoop, push/pull, and climb ladders/scaffolding.
Environment: Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings across varying temperatures (hot/cold).
Conditions: Standard manufacturing floor conditions—exposure to noise, paint fumes, welding, grinding, and heavy machinery (PPE required and provided).
We care about our team's well-being on and off the clock. As a full-time employee, you'll enjoy a comprehensive compensation package:
Great Work / Life Balance: Reliable 40-hour workweeks
Financial Future: 401(k) with Employer Match
