Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Analyze project requirements and collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather necessary information.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify cost trends and pricing strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and negotiate contracts.
• Review and assess bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
• Prepare and present estimates to stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for cost projections.
• Assist in the preparation of project schedules and timelines, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Continuously update and refine estimating processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Preconstruction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local market conditions and pricing trends in the Des Moines area is a plus.
