This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

The role entails proficiency in resistance and spot-welding techniques, bulge forming processes, and safe overhead crane operation. The technician is responsible for constructing diverse components and assemblies with focused attention, working alongside engineering teams to assess new designs and facilitate improvement opportunities. Collaborating with a wide range of internal and external customers across various systems and platforms, the technician contributes to supporting safe human spaceflight. Emphasizing safety, teamwork, and quality, the role centers on creating high-quality components for space exploration.

Special Mentions:

  • Relocation provided.
  • Travel expected up to 5% of the time.
  • Shifts available: Weekday First Shift: Monday – Thursday (5am – 3:30pm)
  • Must be okay with completing repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proficient in resistance and spot-welding techniques.
  • Skilled in bulge forming processes.
  • Competent in the safe and effective operation of overhead cranes.
  • Building a variety of different components and assemblies, requiring the ability to stay focused on the specific task at hand.
  • Working directly with engineering to determine best practices and to vet new designs for improvement opportunities prior to production.
  • Serve a variety of internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms and each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight.
  • A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in fabricating, inspecting, and repairing metallic assemblies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with intricate mechanical structures.
  • Exceptional patience and meticulous attention to detail when performing intricate tasks.
  • Adept at interpreting and comprehending complex engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in working with delicate materials and maintaining tight tolerances.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of precision hand tools, including torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and crimpers.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in utilizing poke tack welders and conformal coating techniques.
  • Skilled in interfacing with software systems such as Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated expertise with at least 4 years of experience in Aerospace, Avionics or related fields.
  • A&P License.


Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $29.03-$40.65
