Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Powder Coat Supervisor works closely with the other functional areas including those in Scheduling Receiving, Kitting, Shipping, Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Fabrication. The Paint & Silk Screen Manager is responsible for managing paint and silk screen operations across all shifts with support from other shift operational leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and enforce all safety policies applicable to Paint and Silk along with general plantwide safety requirements.
- Provide technical support to all paint/silk/masking employees and to all other Functional requirements as needed.
- Ensure that the pre-treatment system titration levels are in tolerance and powder coat line preventative maintenance responsibilities are covered
- Train/Coach Mentor all new employees and cross train existing employees
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and create development plans for team members.
- Assist in creating the daily schedule, work priorities and work hours for all shifts based on demand forecasts and available resources and adjust production plans to meet changing demands or unexpected issues.
- Identify and drive lean improvements in the paint line and silk screen areas optimizing production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
- Full ownership of Paint Line and Silk Screen quality.
- Full ownership of Paint Line and Silk Screen schedule adherence and efficiency
- Establish and enforce the use of paint line/silk work instructions and MPE QMS processes.
Experience and/or Training
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- 5 years of powder coating experience in a high mix and low volume environment
- 5 Years of Pre-treatment titration experience
- Must be able to interpret product routings, bills of materials and drawings
- Experience of leading teams consisting of 10-20 total direct labor employees preferred
- Basic understanding of GD&T
Education
- A degree in a technical field such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, and/or Industrial engineering or equivalent experience is preferred
