Job Overview:
Duration: 6 months contractShift:
Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday 2-8 hours a day (min 2 hours for watering). Watering is from 11:30am to1:30pm.
Plus 1-3 days a week (Monday-Friday), weekdays are flexible hours are from 7:30am-4pm
Job Summary:
Assist with breeding operations for alfalfa germplasm development to include alfalfa crossing and greenhouse plant maintenance including staking, pruning, potting, watering, seeding, counting and greenhouse cleaning.
Help with grinding alfalfa samples and taking quality samples in field (spring-fall). Will require PPE (mask, hearing protection and goggles.) will use a coarse grinder.
Skills:- Alfalfa crossing is very detail oriented; position involves working with small and fragile plant material that requires good eye-hand coordination, excellent attention to detail and quality record keeping.
