1. Role Purpose

Responsible for operating, controlling, and optimizing the final stage of edible oil refining (bleaching, deodorization, and final polishing), ensuring safe operation, product quality, operational efficiency, and operational reliability, in compliance with good manufacturing practices, LOTO and plant safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines and policies (FDA/FSMA)

This role combines hands-on operation with process performance and process output analysis, enabling stable, efficient, and high-quality production of edible oils.

2. Key Responsibilities

Process Operation & Control

· Control the critical parameters: temperature, vacuum, steam stripping rates, and residence time within the processing line

· Ensure effective removal of FFA and impurities as well as the final quality parameters of refined oil

· Execute start-ups, shutdowns, and product changeovers

· Monitor and record process variables in DCS/SCADA systems

· Operate the filtration systems to ensure final oil clarity and product integrity

Utilities & Thermal Systems Operation

  • Monitor steam, vacuum, and cooling systems
  • Inspect equipment for leakages or damaging pumps
  • Verify proper thermal balance across the process
  • Identify and correct deviations in utilities impacting process performance
  • Monitor availability and safe the efficient use of utilities

Filter Operation

  • Feed bleaching earth and filter aids into the system
  • Ensure routine cleaning of filters
  • Replace filter bags regularly
  • Track and inventory consumption of supplies

Process Optimization & Technical Analysis

  • Analyze operating conditions to adjust yield, quality, and efficiency
  • Minimize product losses and off-spec production
  • Support preventive maintenance and root cause analysis

3. Decision-Making Scope

Autonomous: Adjust process parameters within defined operating ranges Initiate corrective actions for process deviations Take samples for process control

  • Fill in operational log sheets and records

4. Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Associate´s degree or similar

Experience Desiderable 2+ Years

5. Working Conditions

  • Industrial manufacturing environment
  • Rotating shifts (as required)
  • Mandatory use of PPE
