Schedule: Full-Time | Shift flexibility required

Pay: $30 to $40+/hr. - Starting pay is highly dependent on prior education, training, and experience

Position Overview

We are adding a brand new role as part of production to help identify and preemptively solve issues that arise across our molding lines. We are currently hiring multiple** Molding Process Technicians** to support molding & injection operations at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding and blow molding processes to ensure product quality, equipment performance, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with plastic molding equipment and a strong understanding of thermoplastic processing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set up, start, stop, and monitor injection molding and blow molding equipment while maintaining safe operating practices.
• Participate in mold installations, removals, and changeovers while ensuring tooling is properly installed and configured.
• Troubleshoot molding defects including dimensional, cosmetic, and process-related issues using established processing techniques.
• Understand the processing characteristics of common thermoplastic resins and make appropriate process adjustments.
• Monitor cycle times, process stability, and product quality to maximize production efficiency while minimizing scrap.
• Document process changes, production activity, and troubleshooting efforts accurately.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities on molds, tooling, and molding equipment.
• Communicate tooling, machine, and process concerns to maintenance and engineering teams.
• Operate and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment including material handling systems, dryers, temperature control units, robotic part handling equipment, and related support systems.
• Support engineering activities including process improvements, validations, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing documentation requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating, setting up, or troubleshooting plastic injection molding, injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding, or similar automated molding equipment.
• Strong understanding of thermoplastic processing and molding fundamentals.
• Experience performing mold changeovers, process adjustments, and equipment setup.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot molding defects and process-related issues.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to recognize tooling and equipment problems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on experience within plastics manufacturing will also be considered.
• Experience supporting high-volume automated manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with process validation activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality systems.
• Experience working with automated molding equipment, robotics, hot runner systems, temperature controllers, dryers, material handling equipment, or related auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and manufacturing procedures.
