The Process Technician reports directly to the Sr. Manufacturing Process Manager performing setup of injecting molding molds including all auxiliary equipment, EOATs, starting the molds, addressing daily production-related issues, and training into starting new molds. Position is also responsible to ensure machines, molds, auxiliary equipment and associated automation operates efficiently.
NOTE - Our current opening is for Night Shift (8 pm - 4 am).
Responsibilities:
- Perform startup and shutdown of production molds as required. Start up presses per process sheets or saved machine programs.
- Perform and confirm completion of mold change-overs (mold, auxiliary equipment, EOAT, etc.).
- Safely operate forklift and overhead cranes for handling molds.
- Ensure that the correct mold and materials are being used.
- Perform minor in-press mold cleaning as needed.
- Ensure processes run consistently and provide production support as needed. Log and communicate any process changes to ensure process parameters are up to date.
- Ensure functional and cosmetic product specifications are met by working with quality and engineering.
- Perform minor EOAT troubleshooting/repair activities.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work Night Shift (8 pm - 4 am).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in Injection Molding in process technician position, or related role.
- Technical knowledge of common injection molding issues as they may be related to mold, material, machine, and process issues.
- Experience with setup and startup of molds and other related equipment as it pertains to injection molding (robots, automation, auxiliary equipment, etc.).
- Knowledge of auxiliary equipment - hydraulics, mold temperature controllers, hot runner controllers, sprue pickers, robots.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems and fluid power.
- Basic operating knowledge of computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
