Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician

The molding process technician is responsible for operating the injection molding machines, robots, and line equipment. This includes starting up and shutting down molding machines and robots, adjusting correct for part defects, changing molds and robot end of arms, and operating a forklift.
This is a full-time position which will support our molding department, reporting directly to the maintenance engineer. It is based at our facility in Perrysburg, Ohio. Job Responsibilities:
- Follows all established safety, health, quality and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Starts and stops injection molding machines to meet production needs.
- Respond to machine alarms and return them to service in a timely manner.
- Adjust molding processes to keep making quality parts.
- If necessary, keep material flowing into the hopper, both regrind and virgin. Empty grinders catch pans.
- Perform mold change, load proper program, and start up injection molding machines.
- Startup robot, change end of arm tool, load proper program, and put into service.
- Adjust robots programming and mechanicals, address demolding and stacking issues, make program changes if necessary.
- Jog robots to safe positions if changing molds or running non-automated parts.
- Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
- Communicate with production leaders to accomplish production objectives.
- Communicate machine issues to engineer and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.

- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard acceptable practices.
- Communicate effectively, convey facts and information clearly.

- Able to use hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of robot or plc programming.
- Previous experience with industrial machine operation or programming.
- Will be required to get a forklift license.
- Occasional heavy lifting up to 35 pounds and working in a hot factory environment.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years in manufacturing preferred.
