Shift:

Varies Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm and / or Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 6:00pm.


Position Summary:

As a Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain plastic injection molding machines to ensure the efficient production of quality plastic products. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up injection molding machines by adjusting machine controls according to product specifications and ensuring proper mold installation.
  • Mix and load and label plastic materials and colorant and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal operation.
  • Manage regrind
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure the production of defect-free plastic parts, making necessary adjustments to parameters as needed.
  • Perform regular inspections of molds, machinery, and equipment to detect and address any issues or malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of machinery.
  • Clean molds, machines, grinders, etc. Clean work areas regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Record production data, including cycle times, scrap rates, and quality checks, accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Continuously strive to improve processes and optimize machine performance to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Willingness to learn and back-up Quality Control when needed.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area using the 5S process and follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • May be required by management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a plastic injection molding machine operator preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine operation.
