Maintenance Mechanic Starting Pay: $31.67- $43.61
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Maintain and troubleshoot all production line equipment associated within the Department to prevent and/or correct mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Cross train on all lines in department/area of responsibility.
- Analyze equipment failures & recommend/implement corrective action for focused department.
- Have knowledge of and capable of performing special technical skill (e.g. basic electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, machining, welding tasks, gas trane). Lead efforts to develop component list for rebuild kits, assemblies & standby equipment for focused department.
- Participate in project meetings for area of responsibility.
- Troubleshoot, modify existing programs, and write new programs for existing and new PLC’s.
- Understand control loops, industrial networks & transformers.
- Lead efforts to develop / enhance PM's & troubleshooting guides as assigned by Supervisor for focused department.
- Coordinate w/ mechanics, other Technicians, & line personnel across shifts maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.
- Utilize the EAM system to document activities and to enter time daily.
- Assist in development of spare parts requirements and min/max levels.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Engineering & Maintenance, Supervisors, TLs and line operators on all shifts.
- Assist supervision in the identification of operator skill gaps and provide possible solutions.
- Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in plant productivity programs.
- Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.
- Comply with all quality program requirements including HACCP and GMPs.
- Perform area housekeeping duties.
- Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Background in industrial and/or mechanical and/or computer systems(preferred). Must be willing to upgrade skills in areas where skills are not at the required level.
- Background in industrial electrical maintenance is preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical information so as to improve the skills of the plant technicians.
- Must have a working knowledge of electrical installation and construction.
- Must have a high degree of competency in the application of both AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
- Must have the ability and initiative to lead and participate in plant problem solving teams.
- Must have knowledge of or be willing and able to train in Maintenance Systems, computer skills, lubricants and lubricating systems, and new technologies in predictive maintenance.
- Must be able to apply problem-solving techniques, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership, and plan effectively.
- Will be required to pass job qualification criteria for position that includes, but is not limited to, mechanical knowledge, customer survey and shop equipment.
- Must be willing to train self and others in problem solving/troubleshooting of electronic/electrical circuitries.
- Must meet pre-qualification criteria, including testing.
- Must have and maintain a good attendance record.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
