POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Supply Chain Planner reports to the Operations Manager and is based out of our Springdale, Arkansas location. This hybrid role oversees the packaging, ingredients, and variable materials combining supply chain management responsibilities with production planning to ensure efficient material flow, optimal inventory levels, and on time manufacturing. This individual will work cross -functionally with procurement, logistics, production and corporate scheduling to drive operational excellence. Key areas of focus include developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors, transportation and distributors and ensuring materials are available 24/7 for productions and making corrections as necessary
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Responsibilities include partnering with the Operations Manager
- Performing high dollar cycle counts (inventory adjustments)
- Presenting Yield Reports
- Forecasting Production Volume vs Budget
- Validate the prior day’s finished goods production, including reviewing scheduled production versus actual production and verifying any production discrepancies greater than five (5) percent.
- Ability to use an inventory reporting system (QAD).
- Adjust work orders in QAD for any count discrepancies and communicate to impacted departments when it is complete.
- Complete random cycle counts on the bottles. Determine the cycle count and at what frequency. Input cycle counts in QAD, and informs impacted departments of any significant cycle count adjustments.
- Understand productivity calculations to understand measures and set targets.
- Ability to understand inventory principles to keep accurate inventories. Use problem-solving skills to figure out inventory discrepancies issues associated with product data in QAD and what is physically in the warehouse; utilize Root Cause Analysis on why data integrity is wrong in QAD.
- Makes final decisions on procurement of material supply requirements based on MRP forecasting. Placement and purchase orders for packaging, ingredients, and variable materials from approved suppliers. Determines which suppliers to use to meet business needs[TQ1]
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw material and components to include managing raw material at 3rd party warehouse and plant.
- Track inbound shipments, resolve logistics issues and manage documentation.
- Monitor, prioritize and report progress of supply orders while identifying and communicating all delays that can have a significant impact on production. This includes problem solving solutions to corporate scheduler in a timely, organized and consistent manner.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedule based on corporate scheduling forecast, inventory targets and capacity constraints while optimizing the schedule at the plant
- Works within and outside of normal hours to monitor production schedule-in-progress and address and scheduling conflicts or delays. Includes the management of schedule exceptions to ensure materials are available for production. If materials are not going to arrive timely for production, this person will change production to match the availability of materials.
- Analyze line utilization and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Communicate regularly with procurement, warehouse and quality control team, including lead daily meetings with production personnel on supplier issues
- Support MRP system data accuracy and reporting. Analyze and manage onsite inventory to ensure optimum warehouse inventory levels and space availability based on demand data
- Perform daily cycle count adjustments to PET inventory. Maintain cycle count records as needed for audit purposes.
- Maintain PO process to determine correct price, freight changes, and delivery dates.
- Maintain relationship with transportation service provider to ensure maximum efficiency and prompt delivery of goods.
- Maintains receiving schedule and transportation coordination of incoming loads to facility.
- Perform SQF food safety and food quality internal audits as assigned.
- Distribute all incoming mail/ invoices to required departments. Process PO approval process partnering with Plant Manager and corporate Accounts Payable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations or a related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in a supply chain role
- Proficient with Microsoft office
- Excel superuser is preferred
- Previous experience with ERP system
- Able to handle stressful, time sensitive situations and quickly set the priorities to minimize manufacturing disruptions
- Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
