Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical (Plant) Superintendent with approximately 10 years of heavy civil and mechanical project experience. This role supervises multiple field crews and subcontractors on plant and pump station projects, enforces safety and quality standards, and supports other project types as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong initiative, excellent planning and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct field crews and subcontractors to complete work safely, correctly, and productively.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and produce weekly safety reports.

  • Provide forepersons with tools, materials, and information required to perform tasks.

  • Monitor subcontractor progress and manage budget and schedule expectations.

  • Interpret project specifications and plans, track productivity and job costs, and implement QA/QC processes.

  • Maintain document control for submittals, material tracking, and required paperwork.

  • Respond proactively to site conditions and unforeseen challenges while managing manpower needs.

Position Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil and mechanical construction with demonstrated superintendent responsibility.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, industry best practices, and QA/QC.

  • Ability to manage fast-paced, changing schedules and priorities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Comfortable leading teams and coordinating field operations.

  • Local travel: Southeastern PA & NJ

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification required.

  • Experience on plant and pump station projects preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work with multiple trades and owner representatives.
