We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Security Manager to lead all aspects of physical security at one of the company’s premier aluminum rolling and manufacturing sites. This role is critical to safeguarding personnel, assets, and critical infrastructure while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

The Plant Security Manager will report directly to the Director of Safety, Health, and Risk Management, maintain close alignment with senior leadership, and actively partner with the on-site security team to drive execution, accountability, and continuous improvement across the security program.

What you will work on:

Physical Security & Site Protection

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive physical security programs for the Warrick Operations campus, including perimeter security, guard force management, and patrol protocols.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses; develop and execute corrective action plans to address identified gaps.
  • Oversee the protection of critical infrastructure, production equipment, raw materials, finished goods, and employee safety assets.
  • Manage incident response protocols, investigate security breaches, and coordinate emergency response activities in collaboration with plant leadership.

Security Access Control Systems

  • Administer and maintain enterprise-level electronic access control systems (ACS), CCTV/video surveillance infrastructure, alarm monitoring platforms, and visitor management systems.
  • Develop and enforce access credentialing policies for employees, contractors, and visitors; conduct periodic access rights audits to ensure adherence to least-privilege principles.
  • Partner with IT and facilities teams to evaluate, procure, and implement upgrades to security technologies, ensuring systems remain current and effective.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of all access control records, security system configurations, and incident logs.

Government & Regulatory Liaison

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations and local (Warrick County Sheriff, Newburgh PD), state (Indiana State Police), and federal (DHS, FBI, ATF) law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage compliance with all applicable federal security regulations, including CFATS (Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards), and other industry-specific mandates.
  • Participate in Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) meetings, InfraGard, and relevant industry security working groups as the plant representative.
  • Coordinate with government agencies during audits, inspections, or emergency situations; prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation.

Personnel Supervision & Development

  • Directly supervise a Security Analyst, providing day-to-day direction, performance management, coaching, and professional development support.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for plant employees, contractors, and new hires.
  • Manage contracted security guard services, including vendor oversight, performance evaluation, and post orders development.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive physical security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with electronic access control systems, IP-based video surveillance, and integrated security platforms (e.g., Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Milestone).
  • Proven track record of collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
  • Working knowledge of CFATS, NERC CIP, or related federal security regulatory frameworks.
  • Professional certification such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or equivalent strongly preferred.
