Position Title:  Plant Manufacturing Accountant                   Department: Finance

Classification: Exempt & Direct                                             Approved By: Human Resources

Position Reports To: CFO

POSITION PURPOSE

EOTECH is looking to hire a Plant Manufacturing Accountant with excellent organizational and analytical skills. The candidate is expected to be detailed oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.  The candidate MUST have advanced excel skills.  The candidate also must be well-versed in various ERPs and be comfortable extracting data and analyzing and researching anomalies and recommend solutions for irregularities.

To ensure success, the candidate should be confident, professional, and meticulous with a keen interest in the cost-efficient operations of the organization. Top candidates will have work well with the operations and sales teams, as well as the ability to work independently and with the finance team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

The following statements of duties, responsibilities, frequency, are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties, responsibilities, frequency may vary depending upon assignments and other factors.

  • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
  • Analyze ERP reports and investigate anomalies.
  • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
  • Record month-end journal entries including but not limited to:  E&O, warranty, labor and overhead applied, PPV, materials in transit, accrued sales
  • Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Prepare freight in and outbound, warranty forecasts/budgets 
  • Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
  • Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
  • Lead physical inventory counts, wall to wall as well as cycle counts 
  • Perform account reconciliations of inventory, warranty and reserves
  • Ad hoc reporting and requests from management team

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Required skills and qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in the accountancy field with at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment working directly with the plant
  • Well-acquainted with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis
  • Ability to analyze ERP data and processes with the ability to identify key variances
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Willingness to work in a team or individually, as required
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Cost Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Passion for numbers and competence in assessing larger datasets
  • Aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and various cost analysis techniques

Schedule:

  • 9/80 work schedule 
  • Monday – Friday
  • Overtime may be required as needed.
