Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will manage all aspects of plant operations to ensure safe practices, quality and environmental compliance, efficiency, conformance to customer requirements, and continuous improvement by working closely with his/her management team, including Engineering, Tool Room, Quality, and Production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Delegates authority to managers and supervisors but maintains oversight responsibility and accountability for plant operations

• Analyzes the plant's current operational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints in order to develop, prepare, and implement goals, projects, and policies that will enable WTW to achieve a competitive advantage in the market

• Monitors plant expenditures and assures costs are within WTW guidelines

• Recommends changes to improve quality and reduce costs

• Forecasts future trends/needs and develops action plans which will enable WTW to meet the predicted situation

• Coordinates with sales on a regular basis concerning existing and new business to effectively support the growth strategy of WTW

• Develops operating strategies and plan to pro-actively prepare for future demands based on analysis of current and past results

• Maintains strong customer service focus for all plant employees

• Maintain positive relationships with customers

• Responsible for representing WTW by ensuring employees meet standards established by WTW

• Facilitates communication within the plant by communicating with employees

  • keeping them informed of initiatives, strategies, and operational change

• Actively listens to staff input concerning daily operations to ensure employees are aware of situations that may affect their work

• Maintains professional growth by participating on teams and in educational programs and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends and to promote leading-edge expertise within the plant

• Lead managers and employees providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff; including

• retention of employee headcount, training, and professional development

• Execute company business plan to achieve key performance indicators

• Develop proposals for capital expenditures and make budget recommendations for manufacturing operations

• Create an environment that values diversity and supports employee growth through communication, training, recognition, and rewards

• Over-sees staff training, performance, discipline and makes decisions regarding job transfers, promotions, and terminations. Conducts performance appraisals with input from others

• Reviews and analyzes tool room, production, quality, maintenance, and operations reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems

• Assists human resources with conducting investigations and discussions to resolve employee issues, discrimination and harassment charges and safety complaints

• Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements

• May be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• 10 years of proven experience in leading high performing teams within a manufacturing environment

• Effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

• Exceptional decision making and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated effective plant workforce management and motivation to achieve safety, quality and efficiency requirements

• Demonstrated ability to engage employees to create and maintain a cohesive team environment

• Basic knowledge of relevant ISO standards

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

• Familiarity with manufacturing software

• Ability to work flexible hours

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sedentary position

• Ability to travel by various public and private transportation methods.

• 20/20 vision required with or without correction.

• Use of hands 100% of the workday.

• Ability to stand or walk 25% of the workday.

• Twisting, bending, leaning frequently during the workday.

• Office environment, occasional exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, coolants, and oils.
