Summary Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
Pay Range: $$134,200 - $223,600

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Tonawanda Site, the sole Persulfates production plant for BL AO.
- Promote a culture in which commitment to and continuous improvement of safety, health, and the environment is given top priority.
- Promote waste minimization efforts that are focused on reduction, reuse, and/or recycle.
- Ensure leadership and team have resources to maintain compliance with all internal/external regulatory safety and environmental standards, including maintaining RC14001 registration.
- Lead goal and objective setting and tracking which are clearly defined and support the business.
- Coach and develop line managers.
- Enable leadership and team identify, measure, track, and ensure achievement of key metrics and KPIs.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure leadership and team have resources to produce high quality products to meet sales and marketing requirements.
- Enable leadership team to maintain plant operating reliability to permit flexibility in meeting market demands and the capability to achieve sustained plant capacity.
- Promote and support technology to optimize operations and technology development in order to ensure that production levels meet and satisfy customer demands and business quality standards.
- Ensure development of site budgets (Capital and expense) and enable leadership and team to maintain budgets.
- Continue ongoing cost improvement while supporting the business strategy.
- Ensure cost information is understood, communicated, and routinely reviewed.
- Ensure leadership and team manages plant inventories in a cost-effective manner while maintaining production capability and reliability, utilize an effective, current facility plan, including environmental planning, capital spending, and resource identification.
- Ensure leadership and team manages physical assets to support long term viability of the plant.
- Ensure leadership and team maintains an effective mechanical integrity system for the facility.
- Ensure the project management system is used to effectively manage capital and other resources.
- Establish and maintain good working relations with local community, civic groups, and political and legislative representatives.
- Establish and maintain good relations with other major business and manufacturing operations within the Western New York industrial community.
- Support and promote plant activities which foster positive relationships with first responders and regulatory agencies in order to ensure that the plant meets its obligations as a corporate citizen in the community.
- Develop and maintain a positive and effective work environment with fair and consistent treatment for all employees and maximize the utilization of plant personnel thus enhancing overall plant performance.
- Responsible for successful bargaining contract negotiations.
- Approve and support the Quality System and authorize changes within authority to both in order to ensure that products and services meet quality standards, customer requirements, and governmental regulations.
- Reviews and Approves Food Safety Policy and Food Safety Objectives.
- Ensures Resources are provided for the effective functioning of the Food Safety System and the Quality System.
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001, RC14001, FSSC22000, ISO50001 standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Process Engineering experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Production/manufacturing management experience – 8 to 10 years.
- Experience working and managing in a union environment. Contact negotiation experience preferred.
