Job Overview:

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Oversees and coordinates manufacturing operations to meet production needs.  Responsible for manufacturing process improvement, development of the manufacturing organization, increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction/engagement, safety, quality, cost and delivery of product.  Responsible for manufacturing process improvement, development of the manufacturing organization, increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction.

You will do this by:

  • Driving a safety-first culture; continuously improves and ensures compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Directly leading and overseeing the scheduling and flow for production and inventory control to ensure cost effectiveness, efficient labor utilization/performance and meets quality standards.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to drive improved efficiencies, reduce costs and improve the work environment.
  • Developing and maintaining reports on production data, metrics and KPIs which drive and measure operational performance, Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
  • Making sound recommendations on capital purchases including development of Capital Equipment Expenditure Requests and justifications. 
  • Partnering with the local leadership team to ensure the execution of the production schedules are optimized to the targeted completion dates, supporting Fisher Barton’s SIOP process
  • Leading performance management for plant employees; identifying and addressing areas of needed coaching and guidance
  • Creating an environment where driven individuals and teams want to join. 
  • Empowering his/her team (direct and indirect) to take risks while measuring their performance and holding them accountable for results.
  • Making employment decisions (hiring, discipline, training, promotions, transfers) which support business operations and company core values. 
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years experience in Manufacturing Supervision within a machining environment
  • Proven leadership skills in planning, manufacturing systems and processes and continuous improvement 
  • Past experience working with customers and vendors 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills is a must. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience using Epicor
  • CNC Machining  Experience
  • Lean or other Continuous Improvement experience
  • ISO experience

  • Occasionally required lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
    • Some travel to each business unit for training purposes
    • Time will be spent sitting in front of a computer screen
    • Spending 80% of your time on the production floor
