Job Overview:

BHJ USA, LLC. is a leading supplier of fresh/frozen meat blends to both the wet and dry pet food industries. We are seeking a motivated individual to perform a variety of tasks. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of the plant. This includes developing efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs and motivates the staff members in performing a variety of tasks in the processing of raw materials for the pet food, pharmaceutical and feed industries, by performing the following tasks:

•    Responsible for all matters relating to production, quality/food safety, loading/unloading, machinery/equipment, health and safety, plant security, sanitation and company owned or leased tractors/trailers
•    Ensure all operations are in compliance with OSHA, USDA, FDA and other federal, state, and local regulations
•    Ensure operation of appropriate quality control systems and ensure that customer specifications and requirements are met
•    Ensure proper reporting of daily production and inventory levels to facilitate timely preparation of daily and weekly reports
•    Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition. Establish and monitor maintenance routines for all key items of equipment for plant.
•    Monitor and analyze usage of wooden pallets, slip sheets, shrink bags and other packaging material and develop plans and recommendations for reduction of usage
•    Demonstrate leadership in the implementation and support of a safety focused culture
•    Lead in the training and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment in which they have the opportunity to succeed.
•    Perform regular workplace inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled
•    Adhere to all safety guidelines and wearing of all required safety gear (PPE)
•    Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures
•    Ensure property is maintained including lawns, trees, bushes, grounds, etc.
•    Recommends purchasing of any necessary production materials such as packing, uniforms, cleaning materials, etc. and present for approval
•    Assist in preparation of annual budgets
•    Lead staff, safety, and shift meetings to discuss production, concerns, or other related information
•    Understand the needs and concerns of employees and resolve issues with the assistance of the HR department
•    Maintains ongoing correspondence and communication with other departments (emails, reports, etc.)

H.S diploma or GED, college degree preferred, minimum 10 years of supervising managing and/or min 5 years of managing a plant. A valid driver’s license is required. Must also possess the following skills:
•    Microsoft Office including Excel
•    Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
•    Service oriented
•    Ability to communicate with people across all organizational levels
•    Ability to work as a part of a team and treat coworkers with respect
•    Ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification and act as a trainer for employees
•    Experience in the following areas:
o    Leadership
o    Process improvement
o    Production equipment and processes
o    Meat processing industry is desired but not required


Will be exposed to cool and wet conditions. Must be able to work around raw beef, chicken or other similar raw materials and odors. We support a drug free workplace and conduct pre-employment drug screening. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. We participate in E-Verify. EEO Employer.
