Shaw Industries is seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility specializing in polymerization processes. The successful candidate will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production while managing cross-functional teams, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the site’s manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.

  • Oversee all aspects of polymer production, including batch polymerization, process control, material handling, and quality assurance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.).

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and logistics.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure operational targets for productivity, quality, cost, and delivery are met.

  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to scale up new polymer products and optimize existing processes.

  • Manage plant budgets, forecasts, and capital improvement projects.

  • Maintain and develop strong supplier and customer relationships as needed to support operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years directly managing polymerization processes preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of thermoplastic and/or thermoset polymer production, including batch or continuous processes preferred.

  • Proven track record of managing plant operations, production scheduling, and cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent understanding of EHS regulations, quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar), and lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with specialty chemicals or high-performance polymers.

  • Familiarity with DCS or PLC systems in polymer manufacturing.

  • Background in implementing ERP/MES systems.
