Plant Manager Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP software, lean manufacturing principles, scheduling, recruiting, and training, as well as a strong background in operations analysis and budgeting. Responsibilities:
- Utilize ERP software to streamline production processes
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency
- Schedule production activities to meet deadlines
- Recruit and train staff to build a high-performing team
- Conduct high-level operations analysis to identify areas for improvement
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for the facility
- Utilize labor management systems knowledge to optimize workforce productivity
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
- Develop incentive-based rates for production to motivate employees
- Utilize basic computer skills for data analysis and reporting
- Oversee projects related to facility improvements and expansions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of foundry environments
- Experience with leadership and people management
- Experience with building incentive-based rates for production
- Experience with labor management systems
- Experience with project management
- Strong communication/ leadership skills.
- Good math and measurement skills.
- Independent and self-motivated.
- Great problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory skills, including training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Thorough knowledge of company health, safety, and environmental policies
- Extensive knowledge of production processes and equipment. Ability to lead change management initiatives.
- Minimum 7 years of plant management experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders numerous times during a shift
- Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to wear PPE, including, but not limited to, a respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, and uniform.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects to 50 pounds.
- Must be available “on call” as needed.
