PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY[CL1] [CL2] - Provide leadership and direction to Maintenance Shop Lead, Lead Electrical Technician, Chief Boiler Operator, Dayshift Mechanics (2), Shift Mechanics (8), and Boiler Operators (3).
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and reliability within the team and actively contribute to and support continuous improvement of that culture.
- Ensure OSHA regulations and other safety-related rules are adhered to and enforced.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching. Perform personnel evaluations and initiate personnel actions such as hires, promotions, and terminations.
- Develop in-house maintenance staff abilities/skills and educate plant personnel on equipment issues.
- Develop and maintain asset management strategies aligned with plant objectives and industry best practices to maximize the performance and lifetime of plant equipment.
- Collaborate with Production Manager and Operations Coordinator to make full use of and maintain the Maintenance Management System (eMaint). Ensure eMaint is used to manage work orders, and establish, monitor, and maintain spare parts. Train Mechanics for eMaint utilization and build eMaint skill among electricians and the entire team.
- Review work order requests, including as necessary with the originator, to ensure scope understanding. Communicate, coordinate, and take part in regular meetings with work order originators, Production Manager, Production Engineer, Supervisors, and Operations Coordinator for agreement on work order priorities, planning, scheduling, and work permitting.
- Review design specifications and engineering drawings for work that involves a change and coordinate the change with Production Manager, Production Engineer, Supervisors, and Operations Coordinator.
- Provide necessary drawings, sketches, etc… for work to be completed and define resource requirements including personnel, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Manage plant maintenance resources including making personnel and equipment available for maintenance activities.
- Monitor the execution of maintenance work in progress to ensure compliance with scope, government permits, relevant regulatory requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, company policies, and specific job requirements.
- Manage and maintain Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs for critical equipment including working with Production Manager and Operations Coordinator to establish, maintain, refine, and coordinate PM and inspection intervals/scheduling.
- Ensure collection of baseline inspection data.
- Maintain inspection data and adjust inspection and testing intervals based on the data collected.
- Initiate systemic corrective action for deficiencies identified.
- Prioritize and manage breakdown maintenance. Where appropriate, conduct defect analysis and equipment failure investigation in order to develop corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
- Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party maintenance and specialty Contractors, including management of proposal reviews, resourcing, on Site coordination/oversight/management/support, and Contractor safety control.
- Collaborate with Production Manager and Operations Coordinator to organize, plan, schedule, and supervise plant shutdown maintenance activity including short, targeted outages and annual shutdowns.
- Collaborate with Operations Coordinator to seek parts and material quotes, submit requisitions to Purchasing, expedite deliveries, collect packing lists and other receiving documents, manage and approve invoices, and ensure responsible fiscal management of ResinTech monies.
- Manage development, funding request, and construction of small to intermediate capital projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with Operations Coordinator to develop and maintain technical documentation files for all equipment items.
- Provide technical support day-to-day to the Production Manager, Production Engineer, and Shift Supervisors.
- Support project teams to deliver safety, quality, reliability, productivity, yield, capacity release, and cost performance upgrades facility-wide as a key stakeholder providing input and feedback on mechanical equipment design, construction, and startup plans while ensuring decisions meet project deliverables and compliance requirements, leveraging external experiences and learning.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - 10+ years’ leadership experience in chemical manufacturing (or similar) plant maintenance management role combined with the technical knowledge, expertise, and experience required to manage all aspects of maintenance for a 24/7 chemical manufacturing operation.

- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret and safety procedures, including state and federal OSHA guidelines.
- Sound knowledge of maintenance of reactors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, process piping, and utility equipment like boilers, air compressors, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and use P&IDs, equipment and layout drawings, and technical drawings and specifications for chemical processes and equipment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA PSM, MOC, and PSSR with ability to participate and contribute to relevant reviews.
- Interpersonal skills (personal rapport and influence) necessary to coach/train staff and collaborate effectively with internal peers.
- Strong analytical skills and systematic and structured way of working.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, use available resources, meet deadlines, and communicate feedback clearly.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of ResinTech personnel with the ability to effectively promote ideas within the plant and across the organization, including to senior management.

- B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or other related engineering discipline or an experienced craftsman with strong supervisory experience and technical knowledge.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - Active or previous boiler licensing.
- Practical experience managing maintenance within an OSHA PSM program or equivalent (e.g. N.J. TCPA).
- Thorough understanding of Industry Code Regulations and RAGAGEP Requirements related to chemical plant operations and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of basic process control systems.
- Ability to comprehend and use electrical drawings and schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and DCSs.
- Working knowledge of maintenance of water and/or wastewater facilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to be trained in respirator use and confined space entry.
- Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and work at elevated heights.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - 50% Office setting, 50% production plant area.
