**Position Summary
**
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment across the facility. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude combined with electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient plant operations.
**Key Responsibilities
**
**Mechanical Maintenance
**
Diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial equipment such as pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery
Align, replace, and rebuild mechanical components as needed
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
**Electrical & PLC Responsibilities
**
Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, drives, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits
Diagnose and repair issues within PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
Assist with PLC programming, modifications, and system improvements
Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams
Support instrumentation calibration and control system functionality
**Operations & Safety
**
Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs to reduce downtime
Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and performance
Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to resolve recurring issues
**Required Qualifications
**
High school diploma or GED (technical certification or associate degree preferred)
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
**Work Environment & Physical Requirements
**
Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment (heat, noise, dust, moving equipment)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed
