Full-Time

Second Shift: 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Wages starting at $27.00/hr. for entry level candidates. This includes a $23/hr. base pay + $4/hr. shift differential. Pay will be determined based on experience. Experienced candidates are preferred. Selection and compensation will be determined based on the experience and skill set of the candidate. Candidate with industrial maintenance experience or mining experience are preferred.

Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a second shift Plant Greaseman for our operation located in Louisville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Perform lubrication tasks across the plant, including greasing bearings, rollers, pins, bushings, and other moving components.
  • Collect and document oil and fluid samples from plant equipment to support preventive maintenance and condition monitoring programs.
  • Monitor fluid levels, lubrication points, and equipment condition; report leaks, contamination, or abnormal wear to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain lubrication tools, grease systems, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper product use.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on crushers, conveyors, screens, and related equipment.
  • Help with component changes such as belts, rollers, and basic mechanical parts under supervision.
  • Support housekeeping efforts in maintenance areas and around plant equipment.
  • Operate mobile equipment (forklift, skid steer, manlift) as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of lubrication, inspections, and assigned tasks.
  • Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and communicate equipment concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow established procedures
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged; prior industrial or mechanical experience is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance and lubrication practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be willing to work a regular 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. shift
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
