Plant 02 | Warehouse Lead | Shift 4

Position Overview

Position Objective:

To order yarn for the tufting department, return yarn to inventory, prepare merges, and waste non-conforming yarn.

Ordering Yarn

  • Ensure that the proper amount of yarn is ordered for each machine.

  • This is based on the MIMI that is prepared by the scheduling department. The amount of yarn that needs to be ordered is based on the footage remaining on the tufting order.

Creel Changes

  • Deliver empty boxes to the machine that is to be creel changed.

  • Confirm that the previous order was closed and that a ticket was printed and placed on the float of carpet.

  • Return all the yarn from the old yarn lot to inventory.

  • Bring the new yarn lot to the creel for it to be loaded.

Returning Yarn to Inventory

  • Any boxes/cases of yarn that do not have a defect and consist of a single yarn lot should be returned to inventory.

Wasting Yarn

  • Retrieve the boxes of nonconformance yarn from the tufting machines.

  • Determine whether the yarn needs to be wasted or returned to inventory.

  • Relocate the yarn to either the waste area or to a new location in the warehouse.

  • Fill out the nonconformance yarn sheet.

Completing Yarn Merges

  • Complete the merge checklist for any upcoming potential merges. These will be located on the tufting schedule.

  • Place stickers from the current lot and from the merge lot onto the merge checklist.

  • Obtain skeins from each yarn lot and attach them to the merge checklist.

Following Established Attendance Policy

  • Must adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy.

  • Must call in and speak to previous shift Supervisor one to two hours prior to shift change.

  • Must speak personally with your supervisor detailing the reason for your absence.

Adhering To Work Schedule

  • Must work all scheduled hours for your shift.

  • Must be able to work weekends.

  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.

  • Must be able to work Holidays if necessary.

Thursday: 11am - 7pm
Friday & Saturday: 7am - 7pm
Sunday: 7am - 3pm
